JP: When we talk about not feeling safe, your body is triggered by something or someone. And experience and all of a sudden you have this exaggerated emotional response. That's kind of what I refer to as a trigger. Our culture tells us if someone triggers you, run. If a pastor triggers you, just leave that church. A book triggers you, throw it in the garbage. So I truly believe that triggers our God's gift to us and that they reveal the things that need to be healed in our life.
