The Role of Biomarkers in IBI

Historically, we've been using largely the white count has been what has been guiding us. It's the primary biomarker that we base decisions on in the Rochester. What we know is that for IBI and particular infants who present with bacterial menjias and bacteremia don't have white counts that are distinguishable from those infants that do not. So where we now move is we've got an opportunity using some new biomarkers or biomarkers that may have been there before but never used.
