Filmmaking Is a Very Extensive Process
Each day the film would come in and then you'd have to produce something through the laboratory that was clear. In those days, directors of photography were walking in the lab at 4 o'clock in the morning because a lot of them wanted to look at their dailies. There was somebody looking for torn purse. They would document all the slates. It was a pretty extensive process when you think about it from a daily standpoint.
