The percentage of our total revenue that we pay for people is out of balance. I remember being in one of my earliest agency jobs, hearing about a creative director making a million dollars a year. In some firms, like the senior creative people, those senior positions make a lot of money. And sometimes even lower positions. Most agencies and creative firms are innovation businesses. The hallmarks of an innovation business are the people are really, really important.
