The Political Momentum Behind the COVID-19 Pandemic

In private finance there was this sense that public private partnerships will be a new avenue for sustaining profitability while resolving some of the political dilemmas countries in the global north were facing. The COVID-19 pandemic has been seen as a sort of trampoline to accelerate the political purchase and momentum behind this maximizing finance for the low carbon transition and maximizing finance for development because it comes with a significant pressure on fiscal resources. There are increasing pressures from fiscal hawks to pair back on the big state agenda that the Biden administration seem to be pushing and to trust more big finance, he says.
