I like this way of thinking about how we can make incremental improvements towards like better civilization, which is basically saying more and more weapons are off limits. It also reminds me of the idea of dueling in the way that people, you know, there used to be a kind of respectable way to kill someone. And then even better than that is not allowing duels, right? And you know, and so on. I saw an interesting claim recently that 100 200 years from now, if we make it as a species, it might be considered as much of a faux pas to get into like a shouting match argument as it currently is considered to get into a duel.
