The Importance of Range of Motion
There was no mechanistic explanation of how this range of motion would magically be better than a shorter range of motion, it just was accepted. I could still get into a myriad of quote unquote evidence based stuff that still just looks at the outcomes and doesn't even make an attempt to get into the mechanism. So for those of us who actually want to understand the mechanism, the mechanisms to me are far more important than just understanding some outcome in the abstract. It's like you said, we do the archeological dig, how far we end up coming removed from some of this stuff.
