How to Regulate Emotional Experience
We learn from our care givers the strategies that our family systems use to regulate emotional experience. So we become aware that one state of mind in such a way that it has a regulartory effect. This is also the beginning of the self generated emotion, where we think a thought in response to something that's distressing in the present moment. And then we evaluate whether they are beneficial thought processes or afflictive thought es. My voice is failing, but i'll go on for a few more minutes. Then we can meditate.
