Summer and spring are the times you want to be lean, that's like a reason I've been doing my cut every year in that timeframe. The use cases that I see it that are outside of that extending the the runway for gains is if you have some sort of previously unplanned event or come up in a weight class based on your performance at a competition kind of last minute.
