Plato's Rulers and Theauxiliars of the State
i think it's really important to look a bit at what plato does to ensure that they can't be soof corrupted or distracted. So the way he sets up this ideal, ideally just state is that the rulers and theauxiliar together form the guardian class. They live this extraordinary life in camp communes where they are not allowed to own any property at all. Women and children are to be held in common. We are told babies are going to be taken away from guardian mothers at birth. The idea being they can all think of each other as a potential family.
