Epicurus' Theory of Sensation and Experience Dispels Fear of Death
Epicurus' theory of sensation and experience in general makes it impossible for a disembodied or immaterial soul to experience anything. Lucretius devoted the entire third book of his poem On the Nature of Things to arguments against fearing death. The most fundamental point, however, is that we will no longer exist after death.
