Grief is an important topic. It's one that I think people shy away from unless they're in the midst of it, but death is an ever-present part of life. And if we don't look at that, I think we miss something that is a critical part of life and what makes life precious. So when your book came out, I knew that I needed to talk to you about grief on this show. There aren't very many episodes where we talk about grief.

Death is an ever-present part of life, and it comes for us all. In some way, we will experience grief and loss -- it may come from the loss of a parent, child, sibling, friend, etc. Today, I am joined by Addison Brasil. Addison is the author of First Year of Grief Club: A Gift From A Friend Who Gets It, and the former producer and co-founder of the world's first peer men's mental health app, tethr.

In this episode, Addison shares his journey to process through grief after he lost his brother to cancer, found his father after he committed suicide, and survived a fatal accident that killed a dear friend and left Addison relearning how to walk.
