The idea of just putting one or two people in a room and having them determine whether or not this person is a cultural fit is kind of a non-starter. When multiple people see something they can debrief it. And that sort of debrief is the very thing that really allows us to find out who this person is. Think about the percentage of success in an organization that does that versus one that's really rigorous. I mean, it's a order of magnitude better hiring.
Pat and Cody explore why so many companies hire poorly. They present three qualities to look for in an interview that have nothing to do with technical expertise or experience, and they reveal the most dangerous hire that companies should avoid at all costs.
