Human-centered design is to bring the user back into the forefront of these systems. Moscow uses male voices to give information on inbound trains and a female voice on outbound trains. In Japan, each station has a unique arrival jingle which helps passengers find their stop. Many innovations seem obvious with hindsight, but were far from obvious at the time.
