Controlling Behavior Is a Way of Quitting Anxiety

Ivy: I think when people, i have noticed that, that feeling of needing to control your environment, because you feel so internally out of control is something that seems reallydi for people. She says it's just efear that if they try to change that, they won't be able to. Ivy: Once we sort of notice that that's the purpose that the controlling behavior is serving, then i can look for the solution to the real problem - which is i feel anxious and scared about what's going to happen.
