How Much Caffeine Do You Drink and When?

Caffeine is a half life in most people's bodies of about eight hours. By the time you're going to bed, you still have about a quarter cup of coffee in your system. Caffeine causes sleep pressure and it builds up over the course of a day. So sometimes we see that one to three am awakenings with low thyroid function or subclinical clinical depression can be caused by too much caffeine.
