Dog Training - Stimulus Control

Only when all four conditions are met does the dog really fully and finally understand the command sit. So with that, we've now got all the ingredients we really need. With stimulus control, there's the idea of a cue. The more technical word for a cue is a conditioned stimulus. And you can use a conditioned reinforcer like a clicker or a whistle which signals that they just did the right thing. This actually bears an interesting relation to a study talked about in The Power of Habits by Charles Duhigg where they got a rat to walk through a simple maze.
