Do you think in that scenario it would be beneficial to do some of your more high quality workouts almost in the same training venue time after time? I know for me, I got into a great groove where I was doing tempo runs on a certain trail loop when I lived right outside of Washington DC and it almost put me in that perfect frame of mind every time. There is nothing wrong with doing workouts with music or podcast or whatever the hell you want. This is supposed to be fun. And if you can even start with just one workout a week, just try it and see how it feels. You might find that you actually start to enjoy the distraction free stuff more.
