"I don't know how a plane could land on it. It's like these basketball shaped round orbs in squishy muck flanked by really hard brittle shale," he says of the Alaska tundra. "When you're sitting in the plane with the pilot like that, even though it's objectively riskier, you don't feel as nervous as you do on a large commercial jet ... right? I think that's because you don't want to die."
