When we're in a negative self-talk spiral, we are basically throwing fat on a fire. We have to get into the habit of noticing the habit and cutting it off. Notice your surroundings while taking slow, deep breaths. Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth deeply is a way also of calming down. And if you have not done those things then definitely make sure that you tackle those issues.
