The Effects of Time Zone Travel on Memory

A good night's sleep will dramatically improve your memory. Those who slept for longer, getting 7 and more hours, performed better at a task. As participants were learning the objects, each object was paired with a corresponding sound. While the participant slept, one of the research assistants played some of these sounds to the participant as they slept at a low volume. That triggered the selective reactivation of individual memories that helped them remember those items better in the morning. But if you don't get enough sleep, it will dramatically impact your ability to remember. One study conducted with airplane cabin crews who frequently fly on long haul routes found their short-term memory was also significantly impaired. The Greek Syestra
