There's some informational benefits to making mistakes, but there's also some real motivational costs to making errors. We have to think carefully about how to balance that both like a kind of intercession and over the course of a competitive season. And we might see a drop in motivation because potentially, what some theories of motivation might say is that actually when people experience failure, actually they lose a litle bit of motive motivation there.
