Officials of london banned them london proper. So they went across the river to southwark, where many of the other characters we've looked at in this episode tended to hang out. It was ultimately the combination of lax laws, band actors and brotho owners that led to the construction of some of the early theatres in southwark. And of course, shakespeare's famous globe theatre was later built in the same part of town.
