The Power of Conversation Analysis
Elizabeth Stoko is an expert in conversation analysis. Her research found that when people were offered a service they weren't really that interested in, if they were asked if they were willing to take a first step in a process or something it made them more likely to say yes. The word willing seemed to get people to go from resistance or an outright no to a rather enthusiastic yes. It seems like one of those one word magic solutions to a lot of problems. But i think it's important that the that we think about the context in which and the setting in which this happening.
