Animals shake all over after they've been chased by a cheetah or engaged in some kind of large group interaction. Human beings, after we get in a tense argument, don't do anything to discharge the stress that's built up. We are an innately co-regulating species. Our autonomic nervous systems sink when we're with other people to their autonomic state. Talking with others about emotional events also helps remind us that it's not personal.
