Is It a War Crime?
The paintings were taken to a city in Crimea, which had been occupied by Russia since 2014. There was a museum there where the pictures were deposited. The Ukrainian culture minister visited Kircen shortly after it had been retaken by Ukrainian forces. And he was horrified to see the empty storums and described the removal as a war crime.
