The Abject Absurdity of Hip-Hop
I wanted to reveal the utter absurdity of well that I mean there's this well-known circuitry of kind of like white suburban kids adopting their manners of dress and addressed from spectacularized images of of black people. The language of keeping it real was so abjectually appropriated just seemed like an extreme moment of an ancient American cycle of appropriation but it's easy to just denounce it, what I wanted to do is also honor with the debate thing like the experience of flow. It would have only been depressing or ironic if there wasn't also some release of real energy in the forms of extreme speech that are in the book.
