As we learn more about the subject, they can put older material into a wider context. And there's an even more import benefit, of course, of changes in memory. Think of a time when you told a good friend about something difficult that had happened and they listened without judgment. Did you notice then how bringing up the memory in that loving context altered the memory in some way? This is helping us incline the heart towards being friendly, towards the mind that's doing the best it can. We incline theheart towards being grateful, or even ore.
