The Benefits of Walking at 8000 Steps
The 10,000 steps myth was created by a Japanese pedometer company to sell pedometers. The reason that we put this sort of low minimum at 8000 steps is that people get all the benefits of walking in terms of longevity and decreasing chronic disease. It's actually really doable with like a few 20 minute walks or 10 minute walks after you eat. You can eat so much ice cream for free if you just up your step count.
