The Importance of Learning to Suffer

Tick Nunnharn's book Peace in Every Step is about how to bring mindfulness into your everyday life. A big part of that is just learning to feel whatever you're feeling, he says. And what happens is from years of not wanting to experience feelings like anxiety, we just always do a compulsion right away to get rid of it. It's very much like physical fitness. If you always avoid running, that doesn't make you better at running. It just eventually makes everything difficult.
