The Role of Insulin Resistance in PCOS
Up to 80% of women with PCOS have insulin resistance. Insulin is a hormone and when your body produces insulin in the pancreas in response to carbohydrates or sugar in the blood. High insulin levels also tends to lead to things like cravings. So all these things that we've already talked about, that we see in people with PCOS can be related back to insulin and high insulin levels.
