What if We Highlighted Prosocial Benefits of Behaviour Change?
Adam Grant: Most behaviour change is actually not desirable, and that's one of the major things that stands in our way. Instead of highlighting all the benefits of changing for the self, what if we focus more on the benefits to others? Todd Rogers: Most treatment effects don't persist, and sometimes they do, and when they do we have no idea why. David Labson: The web offers instant gratification that undermines our very good intentions to get the most out of class. Wendy Wood: We're really good at changing people's knowledge and beliefs but not so good at changing long term behaviour.
