Insulin Sensitizing Effects of Prior Exercises on Skeletal Muscle Microvascular Perfusion
Copenhagen study looked at whether insulin sensitizing effect of prior exercise is associated with increases in skeletal muscle microvascular perfusion. We were able to show as I touched on earlier that the exercise leg takes up a lot more glucose so maybe 60-70% more up to double in some studies and then we were able to say well how much of that was the signaling so from taking the muscle biopsies and how much was from the blood flow we showed for the first time that there was increased in muscle blood flow in the previously exercised leg.
