How to Train a Beginner to Lift a Bar

I like teaching neutral spine a little bit retracted with the shoulder blades during those early years of, you know, just teaching someone how to deadlift an empty bar and then 95 pounds and 135. You know, I just think it is generally safer. And some rounding happens, some protraction happens while you're going through the lift. So, banded, handcuffed deadlifts can be beneficial for beginners, not the best idea for advanced power lifters.
