The Different Levels of Selflessness

Eratius, Cochma speaks about the different levels of selflessness. If a man can find a selfless motivation, then the act will be more fulfilling for him than had he attempted to extract fulfillment directly from the act. There's a very low level of selfless, which is only relatively selfless, but that is if a man can only manage to avoid sin. And so the act itself is inherently dirty or shameful. But conversely, what makes it holy is selflessness.
