Twitter and Craigslist both stumbled into something with very, very strong product market fit. But they then completely fail actually to do anything with it. For Twitter, it's because it just massively dysfunctional and badly managed for sort of 15 years. Meanwhile, Craigslist itself, the bits that hadn't been unbundled, just kind of stagger on it.
