I understand why you want to hire somebody who's sold software before. It breaks my head a little bit that software companies won't consider services. I've known some reps that were just mediocre sales reps in an amazing territory with the absolute hotness of a product. And then you talk to this other person who's been selling services. They haven't closed nearly as much. But they are 10x the salesperson of this other rep because they've been selling a much harder, undifferentiated service offering.
