The Evolution of Genetically Engineered Yeasts

With me in the lab today to talk about genetically engineered yeasts are Molly Browning, Avi Shevitz from La La Monde and Laura Burns from Omega Yeast Lab. They were co-authors along with Chas Rice on a recent MBAAATQ article which was titled, genetically engineered yeast, a review of terminology, science, and regulation. So I want to understand how y'all came up with the idea to write this article.
