The brain has different areas, different networks that focus internally and externally. We can focus on things internally and externally and struggle to do so. So we have reduced inhibition and that's a tensional inhibition - you'll look towards the loud noise because you become distracted by something else. You've talked a little bit about the impulsive reaction. And we know that we are not as good at both prospective response inhibition. In other words, that person you don't like is going to be at that wedding. And therefore, we know they're going to be there, but we still get into a fight with them. Or you turn up to a wedding and all of a sudden that person is there
