The Strange Situation
In the strange situation a baby and its mother come into an ordinary room with toys on the floor. The researchers are looking through the mirror to observe how does the baby relate to the stranger. Some children are you know going bananas they're so upset other children are more subtle in their stress. People respond in essentially three ways when left alone: securely attached child can be soothed by the presence of the mother, insecurely attached child will pretend that the mother hasn't arrived or avoid taking up the opportunity for soothing because she has shown mixed messages before.
