Why Do Animals Get Bored?
Animals experience bored em and if there's a sort of evolutionary history to bored em then we probably shouldn't cast it as a moral failing. A study from georgia mason and rebecca meager looked at mink. They had two groups of mink, one group that was housed in a fairly bland cage with nothing for the animal to do for two weeks. And another group that were housed in cages that had a lot of fun things for them to explore. To mink, a tooth brush is like a lazer pointer to a cat, you know, they just go crazy for tooth brushes.
