The Importance of Compassion-Focused Therapy

Compassion-focused therapy was developed by someone called Paul Gilbert. It's a sensitivity to the suffering of yourself for other people, but it's then the commitment to relieve it or prevent it. So it's very action-focused at saying, yeah, we're going to have times and we are going to have distress because of our emotions. But we shouldn't really avoid it. We should tackle it, take action and do it from a compassionate sample.
