Arthur Lydian: A New Zealand Marathon Champion

Arthur Lydian was a shoemaker in New Zealand. He got into running sometime after World War II, and actually ran a I think he may have been the New Zealand marathon champion. And he had played around with all sorts of things and sort of came up with this idea of a 10 week period of marathon training where the goal was to run 100 miles a week or 1000 miles followed by some hill training and some speed work then a kind of this peak racing experience.
