The body is complex and we've got to be able to not only like isolate and compartmentalize but zoom out and see the whole global picture. Even when you're base building you might want to be spot checking kind of where you're at or if you're working with a new athlete spot checking where they're at it. We can't be great at all things at the same time right I can't have my best 400 meter time and my best 50 mile time shape be in at the exact same moment, that's just how the body works so what do we do we make trade-offs.
