Aristotle's Theory of Catharsis

Catharsis is put forth by Aristotle as kind of the reason for tragedy. Laurel takes catharsis to mean whatever happens to complete the action. She also brings up another theatre writer and sort of philosopher Bertolt Brecht, who was a German playwright in the 1930s and 40s.
