Is There a Linearity Between Progress and Performance?
There is a very clear linearity between the volume of your training and the performance that you're going to have at your race. The best athletes are usually the one that train the most, that put in more hour. But we also need to accept that each athlete adapts at different rates and different things might happen in your life. And you can't always pursue a perfect plan.
