The Role of Carbohydrates in Endurance
We've known since at least in terms of scientific report, we've known since early 20th century that carbohydrate is going to play a role in endurance capacity. So it became more important to either have some type of carbohydrate timing strategy with that kind of stuff. The one of the things I thought of when you were reading that up was, I'll remember what Michael Phelps was when he got medallist and he was having to eat enormous amounts of food every day because he was doing all those swimming workouts. That's really kind of the landmark look for is that you're just replenishing whatever you need to replenish with carbohydrates within 24 hours before your next workout.
