Pricing strategy is best thought of as selecting a target price from a feasible range based upon the sum of your positive and negative differentiation that you create. There's no optimal price; there's prices that work or prices that don't, and so we need to figure out out of a range of prices, where are we going to play. And this is where pricing strategy comes in. The companies that have done it very well have picked a strategy and have aligned the rest of their organization to that.
