She wanted to attract a wide clientele she did not open her restaurant in east los angeles. She had signs in english that also said authentic mexican food right so she kind of wanted both um on top of that during this time period the 1950s and 60s you have the growth of the mexican population in los angeles and the greater american west. People aren't from nayari necessarily but they recognize a sign right she doesn't name the restaurant el serape or you know el sermbrero or something some kind of mexican icon.
