Find an alternate behavior that is reasonably satisfying for what you need in that moment. And as you do that alternate behavior, celebrate it really hard. It might be just standing on one foot and going back and forth. Or looking around the room for everything colored yellow or everything colored green. Something else. But before you decide, you always have to swap in another habit for the bad habit.
